Jace, like many other Shadowhunters was born in Idirous. However, his parents were not ones to stay in one place very long. By the time he was three they had already moved to four different institutes, and the young boy was forced to adapt each time to the new culture. It was not only hard on him, but was also beginning to take a toll on his mother. She pleaded with his father to settle down in one place, but the stubborn man would not hear of it. Finally his mother could take no more. Leaving in the middle of the night jace and his mother set out for the institute in London, his mother's favorite place, and there they lived for about eight years. Jace knew nothing of his dad, except for what little memories he had, and grew up with the idea that he had been killed in some major battle. A heroes death he liked to believe. However, as Jace grew older the more trouble he became. Living with a single parent made it easy to get away with things, and the boy indeed to advantage of it. Sneaking out, drinking, smoking; anything he really thought he could get away with. His mother quickly caught the signs and try as she might, she could not correct his path. She yelled, grounded, and even punished him, but nothing seemed to quite his attitude or stop his actions. The only thing the boy really seemed interested in was his classes and demon hunting. At the age of eleven, his mother could no longer take the stress that came with dealing with her son. She decided it would be best if he got a new start in a different institute. Believing that New York would offer the best opportunities for him, she shipped him. Promising to try to be different, Jace set off with full intentions to change who he was becoming. And though, sometimes he would slip into his old ways they boy did well his first four years at his new home. However, the only thing he had yet to loose was his cocky attitude. Thankfully many overlooked it and he made a few new friends. |

oh hoh hoh! i can see a fun little plot here. with his cocky attitude and attempts to change his ways, and eleanor's robust and loud way- i can see them getting along pretty well. she wouldn't trust him, but she would befriend him. eleanor always puts herself off to be a bad person, but in the end she has your back. hmm ... i am thinking eleanor may think she makes it difficult for him to change his ways, even though that is not the case. adds tension? idunno, my muse pump is dry today. Dx any ideas? C:

Ooo I like where this is going. She would be great to stop Jace from correcting his ways. Kind of bring him back to his bad self. He would be her friend, but like you said I don't think he would trust her. She could always be tempting him back into trouble though, I love it!

Oh so I've put (without realising it like the idiot I am) that Lily's from the London institute too, and she basicaly grew up there so maybe they both new each other when they were children? Of course I doubt that Lily would have been involved with the drinking or smoking but maybe before he got into that they could have been friends? Maybe acquaintances now? |

Ooo I did not notice that either. Hmmm well perhaps they could be really close friends, kind of like brother and sister. She could have nagged at him about partying and all that other stuff like older sisters do. It could form an interesting plot between them.

Oh this sounds good actually, she could be the good influence that isn't really a good influence on him. But I like that, especially if their able to maintain their clsoe friendship even though Lily can be a bit socially awkward she'd probably find time to hang out with Jace. Hah They should go out partying some time it'd be fun, and it'd be fun to put Lily into that situation
